Meet Sam Stark, Green Project CEO

Sam Stark is the CEO and Founder of Green Project; an ACT Group company helping enterprises measure, manage, and act on their climate impact.

Prior to founding Green Project in 2020, Sam worked in Goldman Sachs’ Energy and Sustainability group, where he supported the firm’s Net Zero commitments across its supply chain and private investments. Through this work, he saw firsthand that while organizations increasingly focused on direct emissions, the majority of their impact often sat within hard-to-track supply chains, and that existing tools were frequently complex and ineffective at engaging suppliers. This insight led him to found Green Project to close the gap between corporate climate commitments and supplier-level action.

Under Sam’s leadership, Green Project has expanded its platform and global reach, bringing together Emitwise’s AI-driven supplier engagement and product carbon footprint capabilities, Zeroute’s decarbonization planning technology, and Optera’s audit-grade enterprise carbon accounting. Together, these capabilities support Green Project’s focus on end-to-end decarbonization, helping organizations measure their impact, mobilize suppliers, and turn climate ambition into measurable action.

Sam is a Forbes 30 Under 30 and Huffington Post 20 Under 20 honoree and a graduate of Williams College. He works at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and global markets to help accelerate meaningful climate action.‍
