New York, United States — July 14, 2026 — Green Project Technologies, an ACT Group company and a category leader in supply chain decarbonization, today announced the acquisition of Optera, the enterprise carbon accounting and reporting platform trusted by Fortune 500 sustainability and procurement leaders. Together they form the industry's leading AI climate management platform, uniting Optera's decade of enterprise carbon management with Green Project's category-leading supply chain engagement and renewable energy procurement infrastructure. The unified solution is a true end-to-end platform for companies of any size, geography, or climate maturity, with AI at the core.

The deal closes at a moment when regulations like CA SB 253, CSRD and CBAM are turning voluntary sustainability disclosure into a legal obligation across Europe and North America, with similar pressure building across global markets. Scope 3 remains the largest source of disclosure burden, supplier risk, and procurement cost exposure, and the hardest part of the equation for enterprises to solve.

“For years, the sustainability industry has focused on measurement. Companies can calculate emissions, produce disclosures, and set targets, yet many still don’t know how to close the gap,” said Sam Stark, CEO and Founder of Green Project. “Together with Optera, and backed by ACT Group’s global infrastructure, this is the platform that closes it: one place that meets enterprises and every one of their suppliers where they are and moves them from measurement to action.”

One integrated platform — from the enterprise to every supplier

The combined platform takes customers across the full journey of mobilization, measurement, and management. Green Project brings the world’s largest single supplier engagement program, 6,000+ active suppliers across 100+ countries, paired with Optera’s audit-grade enterprise carbon accounting. AI agents automate data ingestion, mapping, and reporting, with data entered once flowing everywhere it’s needed. The platform identifies emissions hotspots and targets the highest-priority suppliers with the right requests at the right time. For enterprises ready to act, it connects directly to an integrated decarbonization marketplace covering renewable energy certificates, insets, sustainable aviation fuel, and biomethane, with no volume minimums and full pricing transparency.

"Optera was founded to help the largest companies in the world and their suppliers confidently transition to the low-carbon economy, from value chain decarbonization to regulatory compliance," said Tim Weiss, CEO and Co-founder of Optera. "Joining Green Project and ACT Group allows us to realize this vision at an incredible scale, with a truly global reach and end-to end solution. Together we can give every customer, from a global enterprise to a single regional supplier, the tools, the expertise, and the action they need and deliver results to their business."

Service depth that delivers, not just data

Customers receive dedicated Sustainability Managers and global R&D experts on environmental markets and regulatory developments, backed by full-lifecycle servicing, bespoke consulting, and Optera's one team approach. Agentic self-service tooling sits alongside high-touch human support, a unified expert services organization that has stood up some of the world's most ambitious corporate climate programs. ACT Group's market infrastructure extends that reach globally, with renewable energy instruments in 100+ countries, cross-national reporting schema alignment, and data residency support to meet enterprise procurement requirements wherever they sit.

"Since 2009, ACT Group has helped organizations turn climate commitments into action," said Colin Crooks, CEO of ACT Group. "With Green Project Technologies and Optera, we're bringing together enterprise software, global market access and execution capability in a way that is unique in our industry. Together, we're helping organizations move beyond measuring emissions to accelerating decarbonization across their entire value chain."

Built for what enterprise buyers need

The platform meets enterprise procurement, security, and audit standards out of the box: audit-grade accounting, SSO, third-party system integrations, SOC 2, and GDPR, with a 100% success rate on GHG verification and an audit guarantee built into the platform's permissioning and approval flow. Disclosure is built in across CA SB 253, CBAM, CSRD, ESRS, CDP, SBTi, RE100, CSDDD, ASRS, and SECR, meeting regulated buyers wherever they report. Outcomes go beyond compliance: the platform gives the teams that own decarbonization everything they need to secure budget, win contracts, and earn higher disclosure scores, driving down total cost of ownership across the sustainability stack.

"Zayo is a proud customer of both Optera and ACT," said Sondra Smith, Director of Corporate Sustainability. "These are two of my favorite partners, and I'm so excited to have their leading carbon accounting and renewable energy solutions in one package."

What's next for customers

Customers of both Green Project and Optera will receive direct outreach this week from their dedicated success teams with details on the integration plan, the expanded capabilities now available, and the timeline for combined product releases. The transaction follows Green Project's 2025 acquisition of Emitwise, June 2026 acquisition of Zeroute, and recent strategic partnerships with Giki, FlexiDAO, and HowGood.
