In this interview for Supply Chain Digital, Sam Stark, Founder and CEO of Green Project Technologies, discusses how sustainability and resilience work hand in hand.
Sam Stark says:
Corporate climate priorities are undergoing a real reset as boards shift from a values-led sustainability agenda to proactive resilience. World events such as physical climate shocks and geopolitical instability have made climate exposure a core operational risk. As such, companies are forced to treat decarbonisation as a competitiveness strategy rather than a reputational exercise.
The new corporate climate agenda is defined by resilience because investments that reduce volatility and futureproof operations are rewarded. Of course, sustainability still matters, but only when it contributes to strengthening resilience by cutting compliance risk, reducing long-term costs or protecting the business from disruption. In the current environment, resilience is not a softer rebrand of sustainability, it is the commercial framework that now determines which climate actions survive budget scrutiny, and which do not.
