The Australia & New Zealand Scope 3 Peer Group (S3PG) meeting will be held in Sydney, Australia from September 29th-30th. This event brings together sustainability and procurement practitioners for two days of practical, peer-led discussion on one of the hardest challenges in corporate decarbonization: turning Scope 3 ambition into action.
The inaugural Australia & New Zealand S3PG meeting is an opportunity to connect with peer across the region, share what is working, and help build a stronger community for practical Scope 3 action.

Workshop: Leveraging Data for Action: From Emissions Inventory to Decarbonization Roadmap

Description: This session focuses on turning supplier and spend-based data into a credible, audit-ready decarbonization roadmap — ahead of AASB S2's escalating assurance requirements. AI is increasingly central to this shift — from automatically classifying spend data into emissions categories to flagging data gaps and supplier risk at a scale manual review can't match.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of where their data sits between spend-based and activity-based, how Australian emission factors improve Scope 3 accuracy, practical approaches to supplier engagement (including smaller suppliers), what audit-readiness means as assurance requirements escalate, and how emissions data can inform procurement decisions rather than just reporting.
Workshop: Scope 3 and Transport: Decarbonising Freight, Fleets and Logistics Partners

Description: Transport is on track to become Australia's largest source of emissions, and for many organisations, freight and logistics make up the bulk of their Scope 3 footprint. This session sets out what purchasers can ask carriers for, how to weigh emissions alongside cost and service in sourcing decisions, and how to separate genuinely lower-carbon suppliers from marketing claims in a market with limited standardisation — including how AI-enabled route optimisation and carbon reporting are starting to differentiate leading carriers from the rest.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of where transport sits within a typical Scope 3 inventory, how to engage freight and logistics partners on emissions data, what signals actually indicate a lower-carbon supplier, what the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard means for fleet decisions, and which decarbonization levers are realistic in the Australian context.
