ProcureCon Asia 2026 ran from July 7-9 this year, bringing together CPOs, senior procurement leaders, and industry experts to explore what’s next for procurement and supply chain leadership. Through practical case studies, interactive discussions, and peer-level networking, the event focused on real-world challenges and solutions.

This year’s theme, Elevating Value Beyond Boundaries, looked at how procurement can move beyond organisational impact to ecosystem-wide value. We engaged with insights on supplier co-innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and measuring ROI beyond cost savings, positioning procurement as a true strategic driver.

Here are our top takeaways from this year's event:

• Procurement has moved well past cost. The mandate now covers resilience, digital transformation, ethical sourcing, and supplier partnerships that generate long-term enterprise value. Leaders who are still measured only on savings are working to the wrong brief.
• Suppliers choose their best customers, too. Relationship management is not contract administration. The suppliers doing the most innovative, highest-quality work tend to prioritize the buyers who treat them as strategic partners, not interchangeable vendors.
• The modern CPO has to be multilingual. Finance, technology, sustainability, risk, operations, commercial growth. The role is no longer functional. It is translational. The best procurement leaders I know are the ones who can connect those agendas and articulate procurement's contribution to the wider business.
• ESG cannot live in one function. Procurement can lead on sustainable sourcing, but without sponsorship from finance, operations, and leadership, it stays a workstream rather than becoming a business commitment. Shared accountability is what makes it stick.
