The Financial Times' SustainableViews publication recently shared a piece by Sam Stark, Green Project CEO and Founder, entitled "Why Scope 3 emissions reduction is lagging behind."

In it, Stark discusses how many companies are making real progress with Scope 1 and 2 emissions reductions, but progress on Scope 3 lags behind significantly. The rift between different decarbonization areas arises from a lack of understanding and inaction; supply chain data collection can seem like a daunting task, but once the data has been gathered, procurement teams are better positioned to make the business case, presenting decarbonization as the logical, financially justifiable option.

Sam Stark says:

"Data collection can seem a daunting task to complete independently, but partnering with the right experts can reduce the internal burden and accelerate progress."
